Jupiter Oxygen is an energy technology company which developed and patented the high flame temperature oxycombustion process for power plants. Oxygen is used to combust coal or other fuels with a process which creates a flame temperature far higher than air firing, but which can be safely used in conventional new build or retrofitted boilers. The material and water/steam temperatures remain the same as air firing, but increased radiant heat transfer provides more efficient and therefore less costly energy, including a fuel savings. High flame temperature oxy-combustion is patented in the US, China and many countries around the world. Jupiter also has a carbon capture system for high flame oxy-combustion which captures 95-100% of the CO2, developed with the United States Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory. Jupiter and the NETL are completing work on a new high flame temperature oxy-combustion boiler design projected to significantly decrease capital costs while increasing steam output when compared to air fired boilers using the same amount of fuel. In May, 2011, Xinjiang Guanghui New Energy Co. Ltd, and Jupiter Oxygen Corporation, announced their Strategic Alliance Agreement to market Jupiter’s patented high flame temperature oxy-combustion technology, as well as the carbon capture system, in China.
